For our project, we are set on doing a horror opening. The idea for our video is that there is going to be a couple of friends at a house and the people end up leaving later in the night. During their hangout, the girl that lives there is going to emphasize the fact that she is home alone and the only people there are the people she invited over. The girl is going to go to bed and ask them to close the garage or door on their way out. When they are leaving they are going to forget to do it and she is going to go to her bedroom. After a little bit, she is going to go to her kitchen and start cooking food for herself where there is going to be a person dressed in black that she doesn't register is in her house. The next sequences are going to show this figure going around the house when she isn't looking. We are still deciding on what to do for the middle and end of the video, but that is the route we are planning on going.
The movie opening I chose is from Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince which was in July 2009. The first scene shows an invisible cut with clouds in the sky and the eye of Harry Potter. This cut brings the viewers to the time where Harry potter is getting his picture taken by multiple photographers. The second frame I chose is a point of view shot from Harry's perspective. This shows us the amount of photographers. The way that they are all crowded together and there is no open space around them helps the viewers understand the claustrophobia due to the amount of people. This can also be shown when the cameras are flashing in his face when we see a close up of him dissolving quickly to a white frame, portraying the flash from the cameras. The third frame shows the full picture of what these cameras are photographing, Dumbledore and Harry Potter standing next to each other. This frame slowly starts zooming in on one of the characters. The way that Dumbledore is stand...
This picture shows the relationship between a student and a teacher. The props around the room that show this is a classroom include the window cover, the storage spaces, the trash cans next to the door, the posters on the wall, and the blandness of it all. The relationship is shown in mise en scene in the way that the teacher has a finger up at the student looking angry and the student with their hands behind their back taking his scolding. The costume that helps tell what the role of the two people are include the jeans and top the teacher is wearing and the t-shirt and sweatpants that the student is wearing. Both of them have their ID's on which further help identify their roles. The frame is somewhat closed since this picture is taken in a room, but there is further space on the right side.
